Line-Talker DP-100 is the first digital on-hold system in the world to use CompactFlash technology for audio storage. When connected to a PBX phone system, DP-100 plays a pre-recorded message loop to callers on hold, in order to keep them informed or entertained. It is an efficient and cost-effective tool to turn dull and wasted hold time into pleasant and valuable commercial time for companies of all sizes and types.
Most digital on-hold systems currently on the market use either a cassette player or a CD player to download the audio into the system. This scheme has two obvious flaws. Firstly, the cassette/CD player has mechanical moving parts and is likely to cause problems sooner or later. Secondly, the audio must be re-digitized inside the on-hold system before it can be saved into the memory. This re-digitization process often causes additional distortions and background noises, resulting in less than perfect sound quality.
Being a second-generation on-hold system, DP-100 is specifically designed to be without the flaws mentioned above. Sound files created digitally by the Online Production Studio can be copied directly onto a tiny CompactFlash card without the need for any re-digitization. At the user site, the CompactFlash card is simply inserted into DP-100, and the unit is ready to operate. No downloading is needed since the card is the memory itself.
DP-100 is directly compatible with the industry-standard Windows .wav file format, which means that virtually any PC can be used to create and edit the sound file. A CompactFlash card reader is used to copy one or more sound files to the card, and a particular file can be selected by pressing a button on the unit. The CompactFlash cards are commonly used by many digital cameras. They come in many different capacities and are readily available at low cost.
To get the DP-100 music-on-hold system when you purchase a music-on-hold message from Online Production Studio, select the "Purchase DP-100 music-on-hold system" checkbox on the checkout screen. The package includes a 32-megabyte CompactFlash card with your production pre-loaded. When you're ready to renew your music-on-hold message, we'll ship you a CompactFlash card reader for your PC, a $20 value, absolutely free. That way you can load new productions onto the card that came with your DP-100. When a new production is ready, just insert the card into your CompactFlash card reader, copy the production onto the card, and re-insert the card in your DP-100.

** Though DP-100 can handle up to 99 tracks on one CompactFlash card, the CompactFlash card that Online Production Studio provides with the system can only contain up to four standard (six-minute) music-on-hold messages.
